BASIC INFORMATION - FAMI Bezpieczna przystań

You can legally stay in Poland during the period of validity of the residence title entitling you to enter and stay on the territory of Poland.

THE RESIDENCE TITLE ARE:

• visa
• temporary residence permit
• permanent residence permit
• residence permit for long-term EU resident 

In addition, if you are exempt from the visa requirement, you can enter and stay in Poland
as part of the visa-free regime.

IMPORTANT!

If during the period of validity of one of the above-mentioned residence titles you submit an application for legalization of your stay in Poland, and the application does not contain any  formal defects, until the final decision in your case is issued, your stay in Poland will be considered legal.

REMEMBER!

The condition for legal stay, regardless of the residence title you have, is your possession of a valid passport.

 ENTRY CONDITIONS FOR LONG-TERM STAY IN POLAND

When crossing the border to enter the territory of Poland for a long-term stay, you are obliged to justify the purpose and conditions of the planned stay and to have and present on request:

• a valid travel document;
• a valid long-stay visa or a valid residence permit issued by the Polish authorities;
• a document confirming that you have the health insurance

HOW LONG CAN YOU STAY IN POLAND?

You are entitled to stay on the territory of Poland for the period resulting from your:

• Schengen visas ,
• a long-stay visa issued by Polish authorities or
• from a residence permit issued by the Polish authorities.
• as part of visa-free travel for a period of 90 days in a 180-day period (or for the period resulting from the agreement on visa-free travel signed by the EU or Poland with the country of which he/she is a citizen).
• on the basis of a visa or a residence permit issued by another Member State, you are entitled to stay in other Member States than those that issued the residence permit (including Poland) during the period of validity of the residence permit for a period not exceeding 90 days in a 180-day period.

HOW TO EXTEND YOUR STAY IN POLAND?

VISA EXTENSION:

• Schengen visa or a national visa is extended or refused to be extended by the voivode competent for your place of stay, by way of a decision.
• you submit a completed visa extension application form - no later than on the expiry of your legal stay on the territory of Poland.

TEMPORARY RESIDENCE PERMIT

• a temporary residence permit is granted by the voivode competent for your place of stay, by way of a decision.
• you submit an application for a temporary residence permit in person - no later than on the last day of your legal stay on the territory of Poland.

PERMANENT RESIDENCE PERMIT

• A permanent residence permit is granted by the voivode competent for your place of residence, by way of a decision.
• you submit an application for a permanent residence permit in person - no later than on the last day of your legal stay in Poland.

RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR A LONG-TERM EU RESIDENT:

• a long-term EU resident's residence permit is granted or refused by the voivode competent for your place of residence.
